Pair of 18th century cutlery boxes, mahogany with fitted interiors and sterling mounts bearing sterling hallmark and maker's mark 'IW', possibly London maker James Wintle (1821), Joseph Wilson (1835), or John Wright (1835), having knives and forks with sterling pistol-grip handles bearing sterling hallmark and maker's mark 'WA', 14 1/2" H x 9" L x 9 1/2" W. Provenance: Wakefield, Massachusetts collection. One with missing foot; one with detached hinge. Note: this lot was previously won by non-paying bidder Phillip Jonas of Lexington, Massachusetts.
